Father time remains undefeated.
Kevin Hart learned that the hard way after losing a 40-yard dash to former Patriots running back Stevan Ridley.
In the process, the 44-year-old Hart tore his lower abdomen and hip abductors, landing him in a wheelchair.
Hart shared the news on social media, and among those to respond was Ridley, who blamed a former New England teammate for the actor’s injuries.
“I SAW @TOMBRADY DO IT AT YOUR AGE SO I FIGURED YOU HAD THE JUICE TOO BIG BRO!,” Ridley posted on his Instagram Story.
“MY BAD @KEVINHARTFOREAL! HEAL UP AND KEEP MAKING US ALL LAUGH!” Ridley responded on his Instagram
Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, retired “for good” in February after 23 seasons in the NFL, walking away from the game at the age of 45, one year older than Hart.
Of course, Brady was never quick on his feet, although he did rush for 28 touchdowns, becoming the master of the goal-line plunge.
What Hart was thinking challenging a former NFL running back to a foot race is the question that will haunt him for the next six to eight weeks.
In a video on Instagram, the father of four told his 178 million followers about his bad news.
His post had the following caption: “44 and sitting my ass down!!!!! I got to be the dumbest man alive!!!!! What the f–k am I doing???? I blew my s–t….I’m done. FML.”
“To all my men and women out there that are 40 years old and above. It’s not a game, respect that age,” Hart shared in the video.
“Respect that age, or that age will make you respect it. I was just forced to respect it. … Why did I even race? Stupidest s–t ever, now I can’t walk.”
Ridley, by the way, was no slouch during his eight seasons in the NFL.
A third-round pick by the Patriots in 2011, he ran for a career-best 1,263 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2012.
Ridley picked up a ring in New England following the Patriots’ Super Bowl XLIX win over the Seahawks before joining the Jets in 2015. He played eight games in New York after recovering from a knee injury.
Ridley also spent time with the Lions, Colts, Falcons, Broncos, Vikings and Steelers.
