This is the harsh truth.
Sylvester Stallone is denying claims that his 25-year-old marriage ended because of his dog.
On Wednesday, it was reported that Stallone’s wife, Jennifer Flavin, filed for divorce as they fought over a new Rottweiler named Dwight.
The argument over the pooch — Flavin didn’t want another pet, while Stallone wanted the dog for “protection” — supposedly led to an “extremely heated argument that brings up other issues.”
But Stallone is denying the dog allegations.
The “Rocky” star, 76, told TMZ, “We didn’t end the relationship over such a trivial argument, although he admitted that the couple disagreed on “how to take care of the dog,” as they traveled frequently and the two lived in houses.
Stallone surprisingly explained the split as the couple going “in different directions”.
“I have the most respect for Jennifer,” he said. “I’ll love her forever. She’s an amazing woman. She’s the best person I’ve ever met.”
He also cleared the air about a tattoo of Flavin that he covered with a portrait of Dwight.
The “The Expendables” star explained that he wanted to “refresh” his flavin’s ink, but “it got messed up and the dog was just a fix, there would be no ulterior motives,” before adding that he still had Has a tattoo of his estranged wife. Back.
Page Six exclusively reported that Stallone was “blinded” by Flavin’s filing for divorce last week. He was in Oklahoma City shooting the Paramount+ series “Tulsa King” and was “shocked” when he received the news.
“I am sad to announce that after 25 years of marriage, I have filed for divorce from my husband, Sylvester Stallone,” Flavin told PEOPLE. Which we shared, and I know we are both committed to our beautiful daughters.”
The couple first began dating in 1988, when Flavin was a 19-year-old model and Stallone was 42 and divorced twice. After an on-and-off relationship, the pair married in 1997 and share three daughters, Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlett.
