Terry Bradshaw’s claim that he’s never met Steelers coach Mike Tomlin baffles football world

Cue the record scratch.

Terry Bradshaw left much of the NFL community in disbelief Sunday after revealing he’s never met embattled Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, who’s helmed the franchise Bradshaw won four Super Bowls with since 2007.

“I’ve never met Mike Tomlin, but I know one thing, and he is an outstanding, phenomenal coach,” Bradshaw said on “Fox NFL Sunday” after Pittsburgh edged out rival Baltimore for AFC North supremacy.

“Today, you deserved that win today. Maybe everybody’ll leave you alone and respect you for what you’ve accomplished in the great city of Pittsburgh.”

Bradshaw, 77, played his entire 14-year career in Pittsburgh, where he won four championships between 1970 and 1983.

He played under coach Chuck Noll, who held the position for 23 seasons, before Bill Cowher took over in 1992. Tomlin succeeded Cowher after the 2006 season.

Bradshaw’s on-air share about Tomlin, 53, had social media buzzing Sunday.

“Wait…Terry Bradshaw won 4 Super Bowls for the Steelers and has never met Mike Tomlin who’s been the Steelers head coach damn near this entire century?!?” one X user posted.

“Terry Bradshaw just said he’s never met Mike Tomlin. How’s that possible?” another asked.

A separate user also expressed disbelief, writing on X: “Did Terry Bradshaw just say he’s never met Mike Tomlin? How is that even possible. Franchise icon never meeting a coach who has been there for like 20 years lol.”

Tomlin, who had a frustrated Steelers fan base calling for his job last week, coached the Steelers to a 27-22 win over the Ravens Sunday, a victory that pushed Pittsburgh to the top of the AFC North standings at 7-6.

“Awesome team win,” Tomlin said. “I’m just appreciative of the effort of the men in that locker room. It’s classic Steelers vs. Ravens.”

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who threw one touchdown and zero interceptions in the Week 14 win, chided Tomlin’s critics postgame as speculation mounts over a potential parting of ways after the season.

“It means maybe you guys will shut the hell up for a week,” Rodgers said when asked what the victory means.

The Steelers will host the Ravens in the regular-season finale on Jan. 4.
