We live on a 59-foot narrow houseboat: ‘Little sanctuary’

Think of a tiny home — stretch it out slightly, then put it on water.

That’s how content creator Adam Lind — who goes by @adam.floatinghome on TikTok — his wife, Lauren, and their dog, Shanti, live in the UK.

In a 44-second video posted last week, Lind gives his 223,000 followers a tour of their home: a 59-foot narrow houseboat.

Narrowboats are a type of canal boat built specifically to fit the UK’s narrow locks.

At the beginning of the tour, the couple duck down to enter a small door that leads into their kitchen.

“At first, I really didn’t want this layout, but now I really like the separation it brings between here and the living space,” Lind admits in the video.

“And when I’m cooking in here in the evening, it’s my own little sanctuary,” he added.

Lind continues into the narrow space, opening a door to the pair’s bedroom — which is mostly overtaken by their bed.

Their bathroom sits behind another door. The close quarters include a composite toilet, sink, and shower.

“Being self employed we have the flexibility to travel continuously with no specific destination, it has been great to explore hidden corners of my own country that I never knew existed,” Lind wrote on Instagram.

Finally, Lind makes his way to the very back of the home, which boasts a serene living area.

“We have our little cozy corner by the fireplace, and we kept everything on one side of the room to leave enough floor space for yoga,” he explains, showing off shelves full of trinkets, books, and plants in the corners.

“As you can see, I’m pretty sure we have more plants than a garden center,” he joked, signing off with “And that’s our home!”

Lind claimed in the comments that the houseboat set them back a little more than $47,000.

Many viewers praised the couple for making the quaint space their own — but also had some questions.

“What happens if u have guest over? They have to walk over your bedroom to get to your living space,” one wondered.

“With everything on one side of the boat, do you feel that it is tilting to that side?” another quipped.

Another curious mind asked: “How cold does it get inside at winter time? genuine question.”

The Post has contacted Lind for comment.
