Several celebrities turned heads in the Royal Box at the Wimbledon men’s singles final Sunday afternoon, but some for the wrong reasons.
Alongside many others, Jennifer Lopez was in attendance for Jannik Sinner’s win over Alexander Zverev at the All England Club’s Centre Court. Lopez drew attention online for the large floppy Ralph Lauren hat she donned for the match, throughout which she was seen bantering with Tom Hiddleston.

The Royal Box has a strict formal dress code for its guests. Women are asked not to wear large or wide brim hats, as they can block the view of spectators behind them, making it a “nuisance or annoyance” under the entry conditions. The hats are permitted for protection from the sun and heat, but should be removed during the match, per Wimbledon protocol.
As the sun went away later in the day, Lopez removed the hat.
Lopez’s hat was so wide, in fact, that it came close to the diameter of the Venus Rosewater Dish, the trophy awarded to the women’s singles title winner. The dish measures 18.75 inches wide per the Wimbledon website, while Lopez’s hat, per Ralph Lauren’s website, is about 17 inches wide.
Wimbledon viewers shared their disgruntled thoughts on the hat online.
“Her hat looks like a crumpled lunch bag,” one person griped. “That hat is obnoxious, she needs two extra seats for that hat,” another said.
Just the day before Lopez wore the hat, Kate Middleton sported her own wide-brim hat in the Royal Box during the women’s singles final Saturday.

Middleton, as the royal patron of the All England Club, presented women’s champion Linda Noskova with the trophy after the final Saturday before presenting Sinner with the men’s trophy on Sunday.
