Zach Wilson rang in his 24th birthday with his girlfriend Nicolette Dellanno and some sweet treats.
The Jets quarterback, whose birthday is Aug. 3, and the influencer enjoyed a group dinner with Wilson’s family, according to photos his mother, Lisa Wilson, shared on her Instagram Story.
Wilson, who’s entering his third season with the Jets, was all smiles as he posed with a plate with the message “Happy Birthday” written in chocolate syrup, surrounded by brownies and candles.
“Happy Birthday baby,” Lisa wrote over the photo, adding a red heart emoji.
Other snaps showed Wilson and Dellanno posing with the group of friends and family.
“Surround yourself with good people,” Lisa added.
Wilson’s off-season also included a trip to Nashville with Dellanno, who is a New Jersey native, as well as a vacation in the Bahamas in June.
The BYU product turned 24 on the same day his team will suit up for the Hall of Fame Game against the Cleveland Browns in Canton, Ohio.
Wilson will start this season as the backup to four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers, but he will start against Cleveland since the Jets won’t be playing starters.
After Wilson went through a sophomore slump, with head coach Robert Saleh benching Wilson for Mike White, the Jets aggressively pursued Rodgers.
The Jets traded for the 39-year-old in May following an 18-year stint with the Packers.
Wilson, the second pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, is handling the transition well, according to Rodgers.
“He has played really, really well in camp,” Rodgers said this week. “He’s made a number of great throws. He looks confident. His fundamentals are improving. He’s throwing the ball on time. He’s got all the intangibles.
“I think he’ll look back years from now and be really thankful for this time to grow, to reset, to take a breath, and it’s gonna set him up for a nice long career in the league.”
Rodgers made similar comments in May, when said he is determined to help Wilson regain his confidence after a rocky second-year campaign.
“I feel like part of my role here is to help him get his confidence back,” Rodgers said after the trade was finalized. “The team believes in him.
“That’s one question I asked: ‘How do you feel about Zach?’ Because I care about his feelings and I care about how he’s viewed. They really believe in him. They think he can be special — and so do I.”
The Jets are the stars of HBO’s “Hard Knocks” for the 2023 NFL season.
The first trailer for the series was released this week.
