A New Mexico mom has gone viral for revealing that her first name is also her last name. Bailey Grace Bailey took to TikTok in January to share how she became Bailey squared.
“It’s spelled exactly the same. You literally can’t make this up. My first name is Bailey. My husband’s last name is Bailey. And so, in 2020, when we got married, I became Bailey Bailey,” she chirps in the 26-second clip, which has acquired 1.5 million views.
“Girl you did not have to do that,” one TikToker deadpanned.
“I simply would not have changed my last name lol,” another person snickered.
“I know it was love because I could NEVER,” a third emphasized.
The Post reached out to Bailey for comment.
In a follow-up video, Bailey said it was important to her to adopt her husband’s name without hyphenating it, nodding to tradition.
“That’s always what I wanted to do,” she admitted. “Never would I have thought it would have been somebody with the last name Bailey.”
She added: “It just so happened to be spelled exactly the same, and so I took it. I thought, ‘Oh, you know what? This is cool. It’s the same name twice, but this is unique. You don’t hear people with double names often.’ It’s just ironic how it happened.”
Bailey Grace Bailey is not alone. When fashion maven Lauren Bush, granddaughter of the late President George H.W. Bush, married businessman David Lauren, son of clothing designer Ralph Lauren, in 2011, she became Lauren Bush Lauren.
Joining Lauren in this unique line-up are “Sullivan & Son” comedian Ahmed Ahmed, “That Darn Cat” author Gordon Gordon, former Rhode Island Chief Family Court Judge Jeremiah S. Jeremiah Jr., and DJ Khaled, whose real name is Khaled Mohamed Khaled.
As DJ Khaled, 47, rose to fame in 2016, Gary Holzenthal recalled him coming to work for him at his New Orleans records store in 1993. Holzenthal told Miami New Times he pulled the future “All I Do is Win” hitmaker aside to fill out some paperwork, prompting him to share his full name.
“My name is Khaled Khaled,” Holzenthal said he responded.
“What do you mean ‘Khaled Khaled?’ What’s your last name?” he questioned.
“Khaled,” he emphasized.
“Well, what’s your first name?” Holzenthal inquired again.
“Khaled,” was the reply.
“So when I write the check out to you, I’m writing Khaled Khaled on the check?” Holzenthal wondered.
“Yes, sir,” he said.
