Lynalice was scheduled to work non-stop for nearly a week, and she gave her husband a simple task that he failed to complete.
The mom-of-five can be seen cleaning up her messy house in a TikTok video, explaining why she’s planning to leave her husband in the process, Kidspot reports.
“I’ve worked six ten-hour days in a row with one day off for being a sick day,” she said.
Returning home from the shift, she saw the messy house hadn’t been cleaned in any way.
The livid wife explained that her “soon-to-be-ex-husband” was tasked with cleaning the place but failed to do so, leaving the mom to clean it all herself.
“I’d like to pretend I’m not the only person who cleans here, but as you can see …” she continues. “These rooms don’t get much attention when I’m not here.”
Shots of the house reveal toys, clothes, rubbish, and pieces of furniture strewn all over the floor and surfaces.
A time-lapse shows the woman cleaning every room in the house, including the kitchen, bedroom, and living space.
While she continues cleaning, her kids come in and help declutter the space.
Her soon-to-be ex-husband didn’t do as much to help, she clarified.
“While summer session was happening, my soon-to-be-ex-husband claimed he couldn’t watch the kids while he was focusing on homework,” she said.
However, school is now “out for break”, meaning her husband “doesn’t have that excuse anymore”.
“Despite that, every single day I’ve gotten home from work, I’ve been met with one disaster or another caused by inattentive parenting,” she said.
Some of the “disasters” include shampoo on the carpet, nail polish in her kid’s hair and on the carpets and their dog’s bed covers.
Other days, she’s come home to scissors used to “cut hair, the down comforter, the mattress cover” and two of their dogs’ bed covers.
Medications were “gotten into and destroyed”, she added.
According to Lynalice, her husband’s attention has been focused on the four vehicles that live in their driveway that he “wants to work on continuously”.
“His obsession has hit an all-time high and he’s even brought car parts into the dining room and left oil everywhere,” she continued.
Lynalice explained that she wishes to move out of the house, but cannot because of the housing market.
“My soul aches without a place to feel safe and happy,” she said.
The video has amassed more than 7.8 million views and 17k comments, with people worldwide supporting her decision to leave her husband after helping around the house.
“It’s so hard when the burden of maintaining the household is left to women alone,” one said.
“There is nothing more soul-draining than a ‘partner’ who is actually an extra child,” another added.
“Being a single parent while married is the worst,” a TikTok user commented. “I’m glad you’re changing that for yourself and the kids.”
