Give ’em a hand.
Royal fans are devising creative dishes to celebrate Saturday’s coronation of King Charles III — including a snack honoring the 74-year-old monarch’s so-called “sausage fingers.”
The “sausage finger” sandwich boasts sliced cherry tomato cufflinks and even a cheese signet ring.
“Just woke up to this absolute beauty mum spent most of the night creating, pretty sure it’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen. He even has a ring on one of his sausage fingers!” a Twitter user bragged Friday. “We’ll be making our way to London today to camp out over night hoping to get a glimpse tmrw.”
Fans can’t get enough of the king’s infamous sausage fingers — his digits have been roasted online since he took the throne in September following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
“Sausage fingers” was even the seventh most searched term on Google at one point.
Keen observers have noticed the king’s hands are nowhere to be seen in portraits shared before his coronation — joking that Charles has been “bullied” into hiding his fingers for photos.
Sausage finger sandwiches aren’t the only food fit for a king’s celebration.
A Glasgow-based pizzeria rolled out a special pizza for the occasion.
It’s shaped like Charles’ face with onion hair and cheese facial features — complete with oversized ears — and topped with a crown made of fries and jalapeños.
“To commemorate our new monarch we have produced our King Charlie Pizza,” Villaggio Pizza wrote on Facebook. “It’s a 1 off and not available to order unfortunately but we do have all our usual great food.”
Meanwhile, a bakery based in Cheshire called Baked in Banbury made a sculpture of the king out of cake, as well as a corgi cake in honor of the late queen’s love of corgis.
Little Breads sandwich and coffee shop got into the spirit with a cookie featuring a crown topping a Freddo chocolate biscuit.
The coronation is set for Saturday at Westminster Abbey in London.
The event will start at 11 a.m. GMT and 6 a.m. EST.
Fans in the US can tune in live and online for the two-hour televised ceremony followed by the coronation concert featuring Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and several other musical guests.
