Come one, come all: Durex now offers custom-fit condoms

“One size fits all” does not apply in this case.

A whopping 92% of men are buying the wrong size condoms because they’re too embarrassed to buy (smaller) ones that actually fit.

That’s the thrust of a UK study conducted by prophylactic purveyor Durex, which found that nine out of 10 men opt for “regular” fit when buying contraception — even if they require something on a different scale.

Luckily for all those unsure souls, Durex is now offering an online fitting service to make sure they get the right ones.

The service offers a close-fit condom with around a 2-inch circumference and a wider one that measures 2.2 inches, according to Jam Press.

Users also can select the thickness, with choices of extra thin, thin, standard or thick.

The customization doesn’t stop there: Men are able to tailor the smoothness of lubricant, too — choosing either “standard” or “extra.”

The condom and lube giant conducted the study as they launched their newest product — a “nude” condom that claims to be the world’s thinnest at 48 micrometers thick, compared to standard ones, which measure up at 65 micrometers.

A Durex spokesperson said the survey showed that despite most sales being for a “regular” size fit, there is a large variation in the wider population’s penis size — and not all people are suited for what’s most readily available.

“Condoms don’t have to be a barrier to pleasure, and we don’t take a one size fits all approach,” added Nikki Hayward, marketing manager for Durex. “We believe that everybody should be able to find their best fit and have wonderful, feel-good sex, without compromising on safety or sensation.”
