I ordered an $800 birthday cake — it was an ultimate fail: ‘Cake-gate drama’

Let them eat Styrofoam!

Shay, a New York mom —who goes by @thebabyshay on TikTok — revealed she paid nearly $800 for her son’s birthday cake that was made out of Styrofoam.

In the 10-second clip posted on TikTok with 5 million views, Shay wrote, “I paid $800 for a cake and treats for a party of 60 and I got Styrofoam cake instead of a real one to top it off 12 treats came and they were fake too for a 1-year-old party.”

The four-tiered cake featured three-dimensional characters from the children’s movie “Sing” and a miniature replica of her son onstage.

Partygoers discovered the cake’s texture when they cut a slice of the dessert.

Shay began to pick at the red paper icing, confirming cake would not be served at the party.

In a follow-up video, Shay alleged the baker received instructions from the party planner she hired to make a “faux” cake with Styrofoam filling.

“[The baker] did what she was asked. It had nothing to do with her – she did not defraud me, she did not make me pay that much for a fake cake, she had no knowledge of any of this.”

The event planner charged Shay $760 for the disaster cake, but the baker recalls charging the planner $400 for the dessert.

“She scammed me,” Shay alleged about the coordinator.

The TikToker hired event planner Ja’mesha Wilson from Ominira Event Planning in Rochester, NY, to coordinate her son’s birthday party.

The Post reached out to Ominira Event Planning and Shay for comment about the incident.

In January, “I gave her my vision, and I was just suppose to let her handle everything and I just show up.”

Shay admits, “If I would of knew it was fake, I would have bought a cake so my son could have.”

Although the cake was not edible, the mother gushed over the design.

“That cake was so fire, the details and everything was f–king fire.”

Not only was Shay disappointed in the cake, but she felt the party did not meet the standards she expected.

“I paid almost 10K for this party because I wanted the extra-ness; I was suppose to have a candy store, a toy store, candy boxes, [her son’s face] behind every chair I rented.” she reveals. “It was suppose to be that extra and that big, but I didn’t receive none of that.”

Many people commented underneath the viral video, shocked over the major cake fail.

“Styrofoam cake is WILLLDDDD 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 they need jail time,” quipped one person.

“A styrofoam cake could be common but not for $800. It should be cheaper!” pleaded another viewer.

“I need to hear both sides of this cake gate drama,” demanded a watcher.
