What is a cazimi?
Cazimi is the Latin rendering of the Arabic word kaṣmīmī which translates to “as if in the the heart.”
In astrological terms, a cazimi occurs when a planet is in close or exact conjunction to the sun, in the heart of it, if you will. The term was first employed by Hellenistic astrologer Rhetorius and applies to a close conjunction between the sun and any of the respective planets in our solar system.
A Venus cazimi occurs when the planet of love is within one degree of the GOAT star in our solar system.
Apropos of human gestations, the sun and Venus rendezvous in the same sign/degree roughly every nine months.
The last cazimi/conjunction took place on October 22, 2022 in the Venus ruled sign of Libra and the next cazimi will transpire on June 4, 2024 in the Mercurial winds of Gemini.

The cazimi marks the halfway point in Venus’s biblical 40 day retrograde journey in the sign of the lion which began July 22nd and extends through September 3rd.
Our forbearers conceived of retrogrades as a planet’s descent into the underworld, a kind of hero’s journey where we are called to identify and recover something that’s been lost or is now more than ever, essential to our evolution.

It’s wise to treat all Venus rituals like you are preparing for a date with your beloved or potential beloved.
