Move over, Malibu Dream House — there’s a new pink paradise in town.

Meet Hannah Dahl, the 28-year-old interior designer and self-professed lover of all things pink, who transformed her home into an 80s Barbie-themed wonderland that would make the iconic doll blush.

“I put my heart and soul into it,” Dahl told South West News Service.

Her journey to becoming the modern-day Barbie started with a stroke of paint in her Los Angeles apartment. As she experimented with colors, a single coat of pink triggered an epiphany.

The hue enveloped her in a sense of security, evoking her inner child and inspiring her to turn her living space into a life-sized dollhouse.

“I love mixing all things pink with shabby chic and 80s furniture,” Dahl said.

Investing less than $20,000, Dahl spent a year curating a whimsical, Barbie-inspired design, decking her abode with vintage finds sourced from social media, eBay, Etsy and estate sales.

Her apartment became a hotspot for creativity, doubling as a photoshoot location and a real-life fantasy for pink enthusiasts.

But the Barbie dream didn’t end there. Dahl, alongside her fiancé Spencer Ross, packed their pink dreams and relocated to Guthrie, Oklahoma to be close to family, and snagged a two-bedroom property with ample acreage in August 2023.

Their mission? Transform the new house into a pink wonderland to rival even Barbie’s wildest dreams.

Dahl’s eye for unique finds didn’t falter as she snagged heart-shaped tubs for a mere $100, adding a touch of childhood whimsy to their new digs.

While she said her hubby-to-be exudes “chilled skater vibes,” he’s fully onboard with Dahl’s pink revolution, supporting her vision every step of the way. In fact, they’re carving out a “man cave” corner for him amidst the pink panorama.

For Dahl, it’s not just about the home decor; it’s a lifestyle.

Her wardrobe mirrors her house, often adorned in vintage princess gowns and punk princess attire, perfectly syncing with her rosy domain. The power of pink isn’t lost on her; it’s a source of empowerment and comfort, a vibrant reflection of her personality.

“When I dress up I love to match my home,” she said, adding, “It’s so much more fun being confident.”
