It’s 7/11, which means it’s time to get yourself a Slurpee.
Thursday, July 11, is a cool day — and not just because it’s the beloved annual Slurpee Day at 7-Eleven. It also happens to be the convenience retailer’s 97th birthday.
Fans can stop by any participating 7-Eleven, Speedway or Stripes stores to get a free small Slurpee drink in either one of the limited-time flavors or the classics like Cherry and Coca-Cola.
This year, in collaboration with their longtime charity partner, Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals, 7-Eleven fans can enjoy their frozen fave out of a special edition cup, designed by Nolan, a 7-year-old artist and CMN Hospitals National Champion Nolan.
The cup will “aim to bring hope to other pediatric cancer patients and inspire everyone” this Slurpee holiday.
“Slurpee Day is our annual celebration of 7-Eleven’s birthday and our iconic frozen drink; it’s a day of joy, community and good old-fashioned summer fun,” Marissa Jarratt, executive vice president and chief marketing and sustainability officer at 7-Eleven, Inc., said in a statement.
“We are thrilled to share the nostalgia and create new memories with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and our customers who cherish this tradition so dearly.”
To celebrate 7-Eleven’s birthday, there’s a limited-time Birthday Capsule collection live on their merchandise shop, 7Collection — including a 7-Eleven Party Kit to help fans throw a 7-Eleven-themed party.
In addition, 7Rewards and Speedy Rewards members can enter to win free snacks and drinks — including Slurpees — for an entire year just by buying participating products such as Celsius drinks through August 27.
Members who scan their rewards information on Slurpee Day will also get a coupon for a second, free small Slurpee to use on a future purchase before July 31.
