I’ve wasted time and don’t know what job to do — how do I start now?

I had fun for far too long and now I have nothing for the long term. I didn’t go to school or become an entrepreneur and I don’t even know what job I want to do. All I do know is that I don’t like working by myself, and I love problem solving in a team. Where do I start so I can find myself a future?

Well, at least you’re self aware, so you’ve got that going for you. It’s never too late to get your start.

Delayed launches in life are common. You do need some guidance and direction, though. Educating yourself on your options is your best starting point and then getting some training in that area through school would be my next step.

Think about what you could see yourself doing for a living, then research those areas and perhaps take some courses. Since you don’t like to work alone, I’m hoping this means that you are sociable and have a network of friends who you can tap into to also provide some direction.

Don’t worry about making the right move — just the next move. Get started and keep working toward help and self discovery. Keep an open mind, and you are more likely to discover what you are meant to do.
