Gen Z, millennials surprisingly turn to Facebook Dating to find match — ‘fed up’ with other apps

Young adults are swiping left on mainstream dating apps — and swiping right on Facebook.

According to Axios, daily conversations on Facebook Dating among users aged 18 to 29 have increased 24% over the last year.

Through the app, Tse met Nik Dorozhkinrom, 24, and the couple has been together for two years.

The Brooklyn twosome found each other as Tse was getting “fed up with the patterns on the other apps,” such as ghosting and cringe responses. Facebook Dating had “the right timing and right vibe” for a match, she told the outlet.

“I love how easy it is to set up,” Tse said. “Which is basically effortless! I love how you can see who liked you too without paying. And I liked the people on there more than the other apps.”

Users are able to see if they have mutual friends with their match while still keeping their profile hidden from friends. Facebook

Facebook Dating stands out from other dating apps in that all of its features are free — there are no charges for upgrades.

And since the app is through Facebook, users are able to see if they have mutual friends with their match while still keeping their profile hidden from friends, another benefit in the world of dating apps.
