Wendy’s confirms big change to Frosty — here’s how and when to get the new offerings

The rumors are true: Wendy’s is giving its iconic Frosty a makeover for the first time in 55 years.

On Thursday, April 10, the fast-food chain confirmed the lineup of Frosty Swirls and Frosty Fusions — and fans can get their hands on the blended treats earlier than they think.

Rumors started swirling about the changes to the Frosty at the end of February, and Wendy’s confirmed the introduction of the sweet treats in early March, but they didn’t have a start date for the new items.

Frosty Swirls — which will let customers add caramel, strawberry or brownie batter swirl to any chocolate or vanilla Frosty — will be the first to come to the menu.

These three Frosty Swirls will be available to order on Friday, April 11 on the mobile app and in stores on Tuesday, April 15:

• Strawberry Frosty Swirl features sweet, juicy strawberry sauce swirled and topped on a creamy Frosty.
• Caramel Frosty Swirl is an even sweeter treat that tastes like a cold, creamy candy bar.
• Brownie Batter Frosty Swirl is a decadent, chocolatey Frosty treat.

Frosty Fusions are a little further away, arriving at Wendy’s locations nationwide on Monday, May 12. These Frostys will allow customers to mix in “sauce and various sweet treats” such as Pop-Tarts and Oreos to a chocolate or vanilla Frosty.

The Pop-Tarts Strawberry Frosty Fusion is the first time the pastry is officially being offered as a mix-in for a frozen dessert, according to a press release.

For the first time ever, fans can get extra flavor in their Frosty with one of these options:

• Pop-Tarts Strawberry Frosty Fusion combines Wendy’s Frosty and sweet strawberry sauce with chunks of strawberry-flavored Pop-Tarts Crunchy Poppers pieces.
• OREO Brownie Frosty Fusion takes the classic Frosty swirled with the chocolatey Brownie Batter sauce and mixes it with perfectly crunchy OREO cookie pieces.
• Caramel Crunch Frosty Fusion blends the classic Frosty with crunchy toffee pieces and a sweet caramel sauce.
