Sip champagne, savor caviar and sail New York Harbor on The Mark’s historic yacht

This is one haute boat.

Fans of yachting and fine dining can enjoy both on The Mark Hotel’s sailboat experience, the ultimate summer outing. The tony cruise takes its guests from Chelsea Piers to the Statue of Liberty and back, all while feasting on a menu by chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten of The Mark Restaurant. Private charters can even customize their voyage with delicacies from Caviar Kaspia at The Mark.

For the first-rate adventure, a ticket costs $640 (plus tax) per person and the boat accommodates up to 25 people over the age of 21.

The two-hour journey takes place aboard a 70-foot Herreshoff sailboat, the iconic vessel designed by captain Nathanael Greene Herreshoff, one of America’s most eminent naval architects (he designed and built five America’s Cup defenders). The elegant 105-year-old vessel is one of the last of its kind in existence and the honey-toned woodwork bears the patina of history.

The onboard culinary offering is superb. Vongerichten, whose flagship NYC restaurant Jean-Georges earned two Michelin stars, has designed an array of ocean delights. Waiters serve a steady stream of Maine lobster rolls, chilled oysters with smoked trout roe, king crab summer rolls, crisp gulf shrimp with sweet chili sauce, heirloom tomato toast with basil and much more, along with champagne and a selection of wines and craft beers.
