Maxx Crosby’s wife Rachel reveals initial fear of Raiders fans: ‘Nervous as hell’

The rowdy, rabid reputation that Las Vegas Raiders fans have has followed the franchise through thick and thin and is present wherever the team is playing.

This passionate fan base can be intimidating, even for those who are also supporting the team. This was proven by a comment that star edge rusher Maxx Crosby’s wife, Rachel, made during an interview that was posted on the Raiders’ YouTube channel on Tuesday.

“I was nervous, because everybody was like, ‘You have to wear black, make sure everyone’s with you, wear Raiders stuff, don’t talk to the fans’. So, I’m nervous as hell,” Rachel Crosby said after being asked what her initial experience at Raiders games at the Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum was like.

Crosby did add that it ended up being an awesome experience. And she has become one of the most beloved members of the Raiders’ fan community, given that Crosby has blossomed into one of the NFL’s premiere pass rushers.

It’s also worth noting that Crosby was specifically referring to her first experience going to games in Oakland. While Raiders fans have remained loyal and passionate, the feel during home games at Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum is much different than it is now, at Allegiant Stadium.

Games now have a more corporate, tourist-heavy feel that isn’t as universally rowdy or intense as what it was when the Raiders were in Oakland. Therefore, perhaps Raiders wives and girlfriends aren’t as fearful as going to games now as they were during Crosby’s rookie campaign.
