Beloved Aldi Thanksgiving dinner returns to California for $39

Gobble, gobble, no need to toil and trouble in the kitchen this Thanksgiving, because supermarket chain Aldi’s got your back. And your tummy.

Californians can now feed a full table of friends, families and interlopers this Turkey Day for less than the cost of a couple of extra-strong frothy coffees from Erewhon.

The no-frills supermarket chain is offering a classic Thanksgiving feast for 10 people for under $39 — that works out to just $3.90 a mouth! — and this year’s price is even lower than last year’s $40 steal.

And mercifully for budget hunters, there’s no strings attached in terms of required coupons, loyalty cards or memberships.

The meal includes a 16-pound turkey plus all the holiday trimmings: stuffing, sweet potatoes, Hawaiian sweet rolls, cranberries, peas, carrots, celery, pumpkin pie ingredients, milk and whipping cream.

“Thanksgiving shouldn’t require a calculator or a coupon strategy,” Aldi CEO Atty McGrath said in a news release. “At ALDI, shoppers can put a 16-pound turkey and the Thanksgiving classics on the table for 10 people, all for under $39. No hoops. Just a really good meal at a really good price.”

Through Nov. 25, the shopping-list items will be marked with a turkey logo on shelves at Aldi stores across the nation.

The festive meal deal is built around the same core items tracked in the American Farm Bureau Federation’s annual Thanksgiving Dinner Cost Survey. According to the AFBF, over the past five years, Aldi shoppers have saved an average of 26% compared with the national average for the classic cranberry cotillion.

Starting now through Nov. 25, the shopping-list items, of which there are 12 in total, will be marked with a turkey logo on shelves at Aldi stores across the nation, including California, Nevada and Arizona.

Some items arrive on staggered dates — the cranberries are available from Oct. 26, Farmer’s Choice turkey hits shelves Nov. 4 and pumpkin pie mix on Nov. 11 — and actual prices can vary slightly by availability and location.

But for Golden State worriers hunting a no-fuss, budget-conscious holiday meal, Aldi’s festive feast under $39 is once again one of the best deals of the season.

So this year, prepare for the most affordable Nappening of your life thanks to Aldi.
