Look “whooo” is in the holiday spirit.
A baby owl blended into a Kentucky family’s Christmas tree for days before an eagle-eyed carpet cleaner spotted the bird perched on a branch.
The feathered guest spent four days inside homeowner Michelle White’s living room after her family lugged back their Christmas tree this month – a yearly tradition.
“I was shocked. I was so stunned,” White told WDKY.
“I have three dogs,” White added. “We use this room non-stop — watch TV, the kitchen’s right here. No indication.”
Bobby Hayes, the owner of Magic Carpet Cleaning, found the owl as he cleaned the home’s carpet while the family was out. He spotted it when he plugged some equipment in and saw the tree slightly moving.
“The owl was literally sitting on a lower limb here,” Hayes told the station, adding “It crawled up into the tree further. It took me several minutes to even find it.”
The business owner grabbed the bird and sent a photo of it to White.
“I thought he’d put a stuffed animal or an ornament in it, so I called him immediately. I’m like, ‘You’re kidding me, right?’ He was like, ‘No,’” she recalled, noting that if she found the owl she would have fled the house.
The bird was released back into the wild and White, a knitter in her free time, is going to stitch an ornament of an owl to place on her tree.
“Everybody’s going to be able to have a merry Christmas now,” Hayes told WDKY.
