Bees swarm trunk of Australian driver’s BMW on highway

Talk radio was abuzz on Wednesday morning after a motorist sent a picture of the rear of the car in front of him into Melbourne radio station 3AW.

Jeff told 3AW that he took the photo on the Nepean Highway, in Brighton, and initially thought it was mud.

“I saw this X4 in front of me and I thought, ‘Well, this guy or this person doesn’t look after their X4 very well,’” Jeff said.

“As I got closer I realized it was a swarm of bees.”

Jeff said when the BMW stopped, dozens of bees “would sort of scatter.”

“As it started to drive off again the bees would come back again.”

Jeff said he followed the car for “at least” six miles.
