Bikini model confesses to sexually abusing teen boy

An Australian bikini model and reality TV contestant has confessed to sexually abusing a teenage boy.

Megan Skye Blancada, 34, who appeared on the show Who Wants to be a Supermodel, faces an automatic prison term after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a child at Adelaide Magistrates Court in Australia on Thursday.

The offense carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

According to court documents those offences were committed against a boy under the age of 16 at various locations between January 2021 and November 2023.

Police alleged the offenses took place in Adelaide’s outer north, court documents show.

The boy is understood to attend a prestigious private school.

Blancada, a young mom, has also been charged with possession of child exploitation material.

In online profiles, Ms Blancada, 34, advertises herself as a fitness model and advertises her roles in films such as Hey Hey Its Esther and Wolf Creek.

Her Facebook posts also show off a glamorous lifestyle, with multiple posts showing off her bikini modeling jobs.

The court heard how Blancada would contest the child exploitation material charge but was prepared to plead guilty to the charge of sexual abuse.

When asked by Magistrate Brian Nitschke how she intended to plea, she became visibly emotional and answered “guilty”, the Advertiser reported.

Outside court Ms Blancada’s lawyer Andrew Graham read a statement on behalf of the Wolf Creek actor.

“Ms. Blancada just wants to say she’s extremely sorry for what she has done,” he said.

“There’s a teenage victim in this matter, and she hopes that her pleading guilty this morning helps relieve any anxiety or stress he had about giving evidence (in a trial).

“As there will be sentencing submissions made, it’s not appropriate to comment further.”

Blancada, from Sailsbury East, was remanded in custody to face the District Court in April, when a date for sentencing submissions will be set.

She will also face Adelaide Magistrates Court in May regarding the child exploitation material charge.
