Bill Belichick is a Taylor Swift fan after rain-soaked concert: ‘She’s tough’

Even Bill Belichick is all aboard the Taylor Swift train.

The Patriots head coach said he caught a show at Gillette Stadium during the superstar’s summer tour and was blown away by Swift’s commitment to performing in the face of a heavy rainstorm in Foxborough, Mass.

“That was pretty impressive,” Belichick said on “The Greg Hill Show.”

“She is tough, man. She just stood out there and played right through [the rain].”

The eight-time Super Bowl winner isn’t quite sure whether he can label himself a Swiftie yet, though.

“Officially?” Belichick asked when prodded about if he was in fact a Swiftie. “I don’t know about that … What does that mean, like you have a sweatshirt or something?”

Belichick, 71, known for his stoic, sarcastic demeanor with the media, mentioned he was a fan of one particular Swift megahit: Her 2019 song “You Need to Calm Down” from her album “Lover.”

“I’m definitely on the, ‘You’ve Got to Calm Down.’ That’s pretty good like, you’ve got to calm down. There’s a lot of times when that’s very appropriate. You’ve got to calm down.”

The “Cruel Summer” singer has prompted a seismic boon on local economies with her summer Eras Tour, as fans often trek across state lines and even work at concerts to catch her three-hour show.

Belichick, meanwhile, is in the midst of preparing for his 24th season as the head coach of the Patriots, hoping to bring the team back to the playoffs again in the post-Tom Brady era after an 8-9 finish last year.

The legendary coach, who won six Super Bowl titles with Brady as his signal-caller, said the all-time quarterback probably deserves more than just one night of appreciation — the Patriots are readying to honor Brady before their home opener against the Eagles on Sept. 10.

“He’s done an awful lot for this organization, this franchise, this city, the National Football League, one night’s probably really not enough, anywhere close to being enough for the appreciation for what Tom deserves,” Belichick said.
