Things seem to be complicated between Bill Belichick and his longtime girlfriend, Linda Holliday, following their recent split.
The Patriots head coach, 71, and Holliday, 60, “have issues to clear up that come from a long relationship as well as her role in his professional life,” a source told People in a report published Thursday.
Holliday, who has been linked to Belichick since 2007, is the president of the eight-time Super Bowl winner’s Bill Belichick Foundation.
The new report comes days after Page Six exclusively revealed that Belichick and Holliday have “been involved in a drawn-out, back-and-forth breakup for nearly a year.”
A source told People the couple’s “relationship ran its course.”
“Bill is all about football and very busy now. He doesn’t want a lot of public attention on this,” the insider said.
Belichick and Holliday have yet to address the status of their relationship publicly.
Belichick, who is extremely private about his personal life, is in his 49th season as an NFL head coach — and seems focused on the task at hand after a season-opening loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
During the 2023 season opener, the Patriots honored retired quarterback Tom Brady at halftime.
He spent the first 20 seasons of his career in New England, winning six Super Bowls with Belichick.
Belichick and Holliday reportedly met in Palm Beach, which is just a short 30-minute drive from Jupiter, Fla., where she is from.
Holliday shared rare glimpses into her relationship with Belichick on Instagram, having posted photos of them dancing together, dining in the Hamptons and mingling with NFL greats.
Belichick shares daughter Amanda and sons Brian and Steve with his ex-wife, Debby Clarke Belichick.
Linda has twin daughters, Ashley and Kat Hess, both of whom are 30 and living in Boston, according to their joint Instagram, from a previous relationship.
The Patriots host the Dolphins in Week 2 on September 17.
