They became unbridled over the bridal blubs.
Just moments after a pair of lovebirds exchanged vows, a group of guests to the “I Do’s” exchanged blows, bitterly brawling over the bride’s bouquet.
“These women would win medals in wrestling at the Olympics,” teased a social media commenter, per What’s The Jam, stunned by the wanton savagery.
Petals flew, dresses went ruined and hairdos were yanked out of place Monday when a Bosnian bride tossed her bundle of blooms backward towards a gaggle of single gal pals during the reception.
And although undignified, tussling over a newlywed’s flowers is no new craze.
For centuries, women hoping to be the next to walk down the aisle have come to fisticuffs over the newlywed’s bouquet. The tradition, which began in the UK during the 1800s, dictates that the lucky lady who lands the flowers would marry shortly thereafter.
But to avoid the WWE-style smackdown between wannabe-weds, some brand new wives preselect a singleton to whom they wish to pass the coveted torch. Recent bride Chloe Robinson sidestepped the big day drama and handed her bouquet directly to her mama, whose then-boyfriend immediately dropped to one knee and popped the big question.
Tragically, not all fellas are fans of the ritual.
A goofball guest at nuptials in Millbrook, Alabama, hightailed it out of the venue after his girlfriend snagged the floral sack, proving he was absolutely not ready to tie the knot.
The rough-and-tumble attendees at the Bosnia fête this week, however, made it painfully clear that they weren’t just ready for marriage — they were ready for battle.
Once one woman caught the bouquet, two others grabbed for the pinkish arrangement. A tug-of-war ensued, causing the trio to fall to the ground in their shimmering evening gowns.
The wrestling turned vicious as the DJ and a few onlookers urged the girls to give up the fight. But the scrappy gang of sluggers just couldn’t be stopped.
“If I were a guy at that wedding, I would have quietly disappeared,” an online critic scoffed.
“Once they’re on the floor, it becomes a matter of principle to not let go,” said a separate spectator, who seemed to sympathize with the brutes.
“What pathetic women,” a cynic snapped. “But I’m curious about how it ended, who won in the end and what they looked like after all that.”
