Great minds propose alike.
A couple from Columbus, Ohio, is getting lots of love on TikTok for the moment each one took advantage of a perfect sunset during a vacation to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, to propose to each other.
Corey Francis preplanned his proposal to Trevor Turk, according to the Daily Mail, with the couple’s photographer friend, Albert Harris-Russell, on hand to capture the tear-filled moment.
But they were both surprised when Turk got down on one knee, too.
“Out of the 1,250 proposals I’ve captured in my career this is my first double proposal. Congrats to them both!” Harris-Russell captioned the too-cute scene.
“I was so surprised,” Turk, a registered nurse, told the Daily Mail. “I was caught very off guard, but I was really so happy, tears were running down my face, and he was crying too.”
“It was exactly like us,” he continued. “I’m more of a free-flowing person and Corey is very detail oriented, so it’s very us. He even made a spreadsheet to plan for the entire trip.”
The couple, who have been dating for four and a half years, were sized for rings a few months ago, but Turk had no clue if or when Francis, who is a workforce analyst, would pop the question.
So, he decided to ask him himself.
Turk had a feeling the moment was coming when Francis said the two were going to dinner but wouldn’t offer up any details.
“It felt like a dream afterward. We kept calling each other our fiancés,” he added. “It was just a giddy happiness that’s still here now. You could call it a new engagement high.”
Turk and Francis said their big day will be in 2024 in order to “give ourselves some time to plan and relax.”
