Oh, darlin’, don’t you ever grow up — just stay this little football fan.

David Meyers of Nashville, Tennessee, has been a massive football fan for most of his life.

The 49-year-old single parent spent years unsuccessfully trying to get his 10-year-old daughter Cameron and 12-year-old son Jamey to enjoy watching football with him.

That is until Taylor Swift started showing up on the screen.

“It started with, ‘Hey, that’s Taylor, that’s really cool’ to ‘Hey, can you tell me when Travis Kelce scores so I can see Taylor?’ to her actually starting to watch and understand the game,” Meyers told The Post.

Cameron still doesn’t get the ins and outs of the gridiron, but she understands when to cheer, and — most importantly to her dad — she’s excited to spend time with him.

Swift attended her first NFL game this season on Sept. 24 to watch her new beau, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, play against the Chicago Bears.

Since then, the international pop star has been spotted excitedly cheering at most of the Chiefs games leading up to their placement in the Super Bowl this weekend.

Many longtime football fans have loudly expressed their frustration at all the attention given to Swift’s attendance, but girl dads are just happy to be bonding with their children over something they truly enjoy.

Cameron, a young Taylor Swift fan, wasn’t really interested in football until her favorite pop star started appearing on the screen.

“My 10-year-old daughter is watching games with me. I don’t care what brought her to the party, I’m just glad she’s here. They are only little for so long boys, soak up every daddy-daughter moment you can!” Meyers tweeted in response to a viral thread of fathers sharing similar stories.

The major Tennessee Titans fan has even gotten his daughter to expand beyond the Chiefs and engage in conversations about their home team firing coaches and watching players retire.

“I don’t think she really has an opinion on that stuff as much as she does the Chiefs and Kelce and Taylor. But you know at least she listens to what I have to say. So that’s good. It’s not in one ear and out the other,” Meyers said.

And Cameron isn’t the only Swiftie who’s begun paying attention to the NFL. Many in her large and incredibly loyal fan base have become interested in football — as they do with most things Swift likes, including choker necklaces and red lipstick.

An average of 17.9 million people watched NFL games this season, according to Nielsen, a 7% increase from the previous season. That makes it the highest regular-season average in nearly a decade, the league said.

This year’s competition has been especially entertaining with about 70% of games having been within one score in the fourth quarter, but there’s no denying Swift’s presence has spiked ratings.

“Having the ‘Taylor Swift Effect’ is also positive,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell — a father to two Gen Zer girls — said in a press conference this week. “It creates a buzz, it creates another group of young fans — particularly young women — that are interested.”

“She‘s the best of the best so having her come to NFL games, having her part of that, is nothing but a positive.”

And many of his fellow girl dads agree. They’re happy to consider Swift a good role model for their children. The fact that she’s inspiring them to enjoy football is just icing on the football cupcakes — which Cameron will be making this Sunday.

Jamie Voorhies, 47, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, approves of his 11-year-old daughter Bre’s admiration of Swift.

“I couldn’t really hope for a better role model,” Jamie told The Post noting that the singer seems to be both talented and kind. But his new favorite part of Swift’s influence on his daughter is her genuine interest in football.

“She’s really into the game now,” he said of Bre. “She’s watching the plays and not just the commercials.”

Bre has enjoyed this football season just as much as her father.

“I got really excited to start watching the games and my dad started to become more open to watching the games even when they weren’t his, like, favorite team,” she told The Post.

“This has been a really fun time,” Bre said. The preteen confirmed she’s “for sure” going to join her dad next season — but the 2023 to 2024 season hasn’t ended yet.

Jamie, a longtime 49ers fan, is excitedly counting down the days until his team rivals the Chiefs again.

“This will be the first time we’ve had, a little bit of conflict, but it sounds like she’s going for the Niners, so it’ll be good,” Jamie said.

It’s a win for Bre — and girl dads — either way.

As Meyers put it, “They’re only this age once. You got to take what you can get out of that year.”
