Exclusive | Bill Belichick’s daughter-in-law blames order for arrest ordeal on ‘fumble’

The order for arrest that was issued for Jen Belichick earlier this week has been recalled, and the attorney representing Bill Belichick’s daughter-in-law in the case is blaming the whole ordeal on a “fumble.”

Jen became a wanted woman in North Carolina on Monday after she was accused of skipping out on a mandatory July 10 court date that was set after she had been charged with misdemeanor speeding on May 21.

But her lawyer, Coastal South Law’s Alex Kintner, told The California Post on Wednesday the saga has now taken a big step toward total resolution.

“I can confirm as Mrs. Belichick’s attorney in this matter that there is no order for Mrs. Belichick’s arrest, nor is there a failure to appear,” Kintner said in a text message. “Both have been struck and her traffic ticket will be resolved on the next court date by me.

“Somebody fumbled the ball last week, but we picked it up and ran with it. Go Heels.”

Brunswick County court records show that on Tuesday, Kintner filed a motion to recall Jen’s order for arrest, listing the reason for her absence as he had been “just retained.”

On Wednesday, a judge granted Kintner’s motion, removed Jen’s failure to appear, recalled her order for arrest and set a new disposition hearing date for Sept. 25, according to the records.

When reached on Wednesday, Jen told The Post she had “no comment” on the matter.

However, on Monday, in the hours after The Post first reported the order for arrest, she appeared to make light of the situation by sharing a “Bad Boy for Life”-themed Instagram post.

Jen is the wife of UNC defensive coordinator Steve Belichick, who is the 39-year-old son of Tar Heels head coach Bill Belichick.
