Flight attendant bakes a cake at 35,000ft — here’s why he was hit with backlash

This flight turned out a treat.

An airline worker has gone viral on TikTok after sharing a video that shows him baking a cake while 35,000 feet in the air.

Miguel Vasconcelos, who works for the cut-price carrier Ryanair, shared the sweet clip to his account last week, where it quickly went viral, clocking up more than half a million views.

In the video, Vasconcelos was seen combining powdered chocolate cake mix, eggs, oil, water and chocolate chips into a bowl while standing in the cramped kitchen area of the plane.

“I feel ridiculous,” the flight attendant laughed as he struggled with cleanly cracking the eggs.

He subsequently mixed the ingredients together and had his co-worker add some extra chocolate chips.

The high-flying baker subsequently placed the batter in the aircraft’s oven before waiting for the results.

Vasconcelos and his co-worker were relieved to see the cake come out of the oven perfectly.

The two flight attendants ended the video smiling while taking a bite of their dessert.

Viewers were left wowed by the mile-high moment, with many saying they would have loved to sample the sweet treat.

Some noted that the dessert likely filled the plane with the sweet aroma of chocolate, leaving passengers salivating.

However, others couldn’t help but point out the potential dangers of the seemingly innocent activity.

“You may cause fire in the oven,” one concerned commentator claimed.

And a few people had to chime in joking about the notoriously slow service on airplanes.

“Now I know what you guys are doing whilst I’m waiting for my water,” @__.sophs

But Vasconcelos didn’t seem to mind the comments and plans to do it again.

“Tell me what cake I should bake next!” he said to his viewers.
