Grandpa throws rave-funeral for late grandson: ‘I felt that he wanted me to dance with him’

He was raved from the dead.

An Italian grandfather, Gino Gentilin, celebrated the tragic loss of his grandson’s life in a usual way.

Gentilin, 66, lost his grandson Kevin Gentilin, 15, in a car accident from riding his vintage Vespa scooter to school when he was hit by a car as he rode through rush hour traffic in Castelfranco Veneto, Italy, on October 25.

In honor of his kin, Gentilin wanted to send his loved one off in a way they connected, dancing to techno and pop music.

At the funeral, the 66-year-old burst into a tribute dance routine beside Kevin’s coffin as family and friends cheered him on.

“In those moments, I felt Kevin’s presence among us, and I felt that he wanted me to dance with him so that we could have fun together once again,” Gentilin gushed to NewsFlash.

Before the honorable performance, he asked permission from his son and daughter-in-law, who graciously approved.

“The speaker started pumping out music, first the 883, then the Brothers and finally a remix by DJ Matrix,” Gentilin said.

While dancing at the funeral, he felt spiritually connected to Kevin, sending him off with high energy instead of somberness.

“I turned directly to him, I shouted, ‘Fly Kevin, now you are free!” Gentilin said. “He and I were two kindred spirits. He came to visit me every evening, we talked about everything.

The pair shared a deep interest in music, often feeling like friends rather than grandfathers and grandsons.

“I was exhausted, but at the same time, I felt light,” Gentilin shared about his dance tribute.

However, he didn’t realize funeral attendees were recording his unique dance moment until it went viral.

“What I didn’t know is that they would film the scene with their cell phones and that the video would end up on social media and in the newspapers,” he confessed.

With no intention to offend anyone, Gentilin revealed his reasoning behind the dance and the impact his grandson left on him.

“I apologize if I have offended anyone’s sensibilities, but believe me that dance, a declaration of love to my grandson, saved me,” he admitted.
