She doesn’t care what you ink.
UK mom Katie Taylor, 27, has been covering her body with art since she was 18 — yet the latest addition to her tattoo collection has been the subject of severe backlash online.
For about $100, Taylor got a tattoo of a rose on her face near her ear as a nod to her 2-year-old daughter’s middle name. She wanted to be able to “constantly see it.”
Taylor said her daughter appreciates the new ink, which she got earlier this month.
“She said to me, ‘That’s my tattoo.’ She loves it,” Taylor told SWNS.
Unfortunately, not everyone feels as rosy about Taylor’s decision. She said trolls have been cruel about her face tattoo.
“Some people online have said, ‘You’re a thug,’ ‘You look like you’ve just got out of prison,’” Taylor lamented.
Even before she had a face tattoo, Taylor said she got the “odd comment” calling her a “bad parent” for having tattoos elsewhere on her body.
She sports around 15 pieces of ink — making up a sleeve on her right arm and thigh.
Though Taylor has said she doesn’t plan to get more tattoos on or near her face, she doesn’t regret her decision.
As a mother, Taylor emphasized that she thinks it’s important not to judge anyone based on their appearance.
“I want my daughter to grow up knowing if she wants a tattoo or to do something for herself,” Taylor insisted, “she could go and do it.”
Ultimately, it’s only the opinions of her daughter and her partner, Jake Kennedy, 29, that really matter.
“[Jake] was the one that said, ‘If you want it, you go and get it,” Taylor explained. “This tattoo’s got to be my favorite so far.”
