This disgruntled driver dropped some serious food for thought.
The sweet taste of revenge was fast-quashed by the bitter bite of humble pie for one food deliverer, who wrote an unsavory letter to a customer she’d mistakingly assumed was a tightwad.
“POV: Your Door Dasher leaves a nasty note in your food thinking you wouldn’t tip,” penned a fast-foodie known online as Tamera, from Maryland, in the closed captions of an explosive TikTok exposé.
In the chaotic clip, which has amassed over 261,0000 views, the unnamed and presumably annoyed delivery woman is caught on home surveillance camera-toting a large Popeyes bag to its front door.
But when Tamera comes out to retrieve the food with cash to hand over as a gesture of appreciation, the perceivably peeved-turned-contrite chow courier refuses the tip and immediately apologizes for the distasteful surprise she’d tucked inside the food package.
DoorDash did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for a comment.
“You keep that,” said the guilty grub-bearer as she rebuffed the gratuity. “I didn’t see a tip on the app, and I put a little card in there…I’m sorry.”
Nosey social media snoops begged for a glimpse at the messy memo. And gladly Tamera obliged.
“Here [goes] the damn note,” she said in a separate, albeit equally buzzy bulletin featuring a snapshot of the salty letter, which read: “Lucky for you I didn’t bother the food. But next time consider tipping your driver.”
Unsurprisingly, online onlookers were hugely bothered by the snack-schlepper’s spicy shade.
“‘Bother the food.’ Yeah you were about to be sipping on some… piss and spit,” said a stunned commentator.
“Would’ve taken this as a threat and reported her,” wrote another.
“Omg that’s even worse than I expected it to be. Like, who would put that in writing and then in YOUR bag,” questioned an equally shocked spectator.
“She didn’t have to accept the order,” added another. “It shows you before you accept if there’s or tip or not.”
The debate over whether to tip food delivers, and how much extra dough is appropriate to give, has become a hot-button issue over the past year.
In July, a delivery man in Texas yelled “F- -k you” at a patron who thanked him with an extra $5 for dropping off her $20 pizza pie. And in March, resurfaced footage of a Dasher refusing to hand over a client’s eats after being tipped $8 scored over 1 million YouTube views.
To address the abounding gratuity gripes, DoorDash announced that folks who fail to tip via the app should expect longer wait times for their nibbles.
“Dashers can pick and choose which orders they want to do,” said the company in a release.
“Orders that take longer to be accepted by Dashers tend to result in a slower delivery.”
