I’m a mom of three living in a one-bedroom apartment — my baby sleeps in a tent

With the rising cost of rent and mortgages, many of us are having to get savvy when it comes to our space.

Luckily, mom Elizabeth Hayden has shared her top tips, after revealing how she turned a 600–square-foot flat into the perfect home for her three young kids.

But it’s her genius trick of using a tent that has got people talking.

The mom-of-three revealed that she’s placed a SlumberPod over her youngest daughter’s cot, which helps block out the light and stops her siblings from disturbing her the night.

She said: “Come with me as a single mom of three babies living in a one-bedroom apartment that’s 600 square feet.”

During the two-minute TikTok reel, Elizabeth is seen walking through her home, made up of an open-plan living room, bedroom, and bathroom.

She continued: “Here’s the cute entryway.

“We have a little trampoline right here. We have a couch here.

“Their little playthings. I decorated the wall.”

To make the space her own, the mom-of-three added three pink canvases up on the wall and some on-trend rattan wall hangings.

She continued: “Turn this way. I got these new curtains put up. They’re thermal blocking which is great in Houston.

“We have drawers for the kids that I’m still organizing.

“Turn this way. We have all their clothes.

“Swivel this way. This is their breakfast area with a splash mat, which has helped so much, like, y’all don’t even know.”

In another corner of the room is Elizabeth’s double bed.

She continued: “We’re gonna go this way, and those are little pillow covers. I’m washing the duvet that matches them. It’s super cute.

The savvy mom also went on to show their kitchen, adding: “Our cute little counter. I love little dishes and hand soap things, so cute.”

The TikTokker also shared a quick pan around their bathroom, before heading into her kids’ room.

Sharing a shot of two twin beds, she said: “We got their beds set up. I still need to get them a bunk bed. We got toys, and then somebody bought Lily a crib.”

Although it was her genius hack to make sure her youngest isn’t disturbed when her older siblings come to bed later that got people talking.

She continued: “So she has this cute little mini cot, and then I put the tent over it so that it blocks out the light.”
