It’s all gone to his head.
A balding man was desperate to fix his receding hairline — so he went to a tattoo parlor to get bangs inked on his forehead in an apparent hilarious hoax that has tricked viewers.
In the parody video, Gianluca, 26, from Italy, managed to get a tattoo artist to “tattoo” some fake hair onto his head but was shocked to see the outcome, which was documented on TikTok.
The tattoo artist acted like she did a good job, but Gianluca was horrified – she had left him with a slab of fake, dark-colored “bangs” on top of his bald spot.
At the end of the video, it appeared that Gianluca was crying over the makeover – but it’s unclear if they were happy tears or sad ones.
The viral video, which reached 27.8 million views, seemed to pull viewers’ legs, drawing comments from users all over the world who couldn’t believe their eyes.
“I dont think hes crying because hes happy,” one person pointed out.
Another agreed, typing, “I don’t know why I was trusting process.”
“Doesn’t seem like something he will regret at all,” one commenter quipped.
Someone even joked that he would have to get the tattoo removed via a laser.
“Him going home to google leaser tattoo removal prices,” the user cracked.
However, in actuality, it looks like he won’t have any removal to do, as it appears the tattoo is a fake.
In a follow-up video, tattoo artist, Maria Gina Altobelli, 30, who owns The Gipsy.g Tattoo & Piercing in Fondi, Italy, revealed how he was “healing” from the tattoo.
“A few days ago, I posted this video,” Altobelli explained in the clip translated from Italian with English captions.
“Given the large number of views, I want to show you how this bangs healed.”
Gianluca then slithered into the frame, where he had even more fake hair, presumably from a wig, taped onto his forehead where the alleged tattoo was.
“Wow, healed so well that it seems real,” Gianluca joked.
However, Altobelli alleged to Caters News Agency that it actually took them one hour to complete the look.
“It took us an hour to do it because I’ve been tattooing for six years now, so I’m very fast,” she told the outlet.
She also admitted that she wasn’t expecting it to go as viral as it did.
“I didn’t expect all this virality of the video,” she said.
But although Gianluca and his tattoo artist may have been trying to pull a fast one on their viewers, there are many people who choose to get some fake body parts drawn on them.
Last month, a man from the United Kingdom had a six-pack tattooed on him in order to get ready for summer.
Another woman was left bloodied after getting five botched eyebrow tattoo procedures.
