Inside the life-sized Polly Pocket home created by Airbnb: ‘Serious slumber party fun’

Polly Pocket might be “tiny but mighty,” but this new collaboration is larger than life.

Toy giant Mattel has partnered with Airbnb to turn a Polly Pocket compact into a real-life vacation rental to celebrate the doll’s 35th anniversary

Polly is “becoming an Airbnb host” with the creation of the two-story Slumber Party Fun compact located in Littleton, Massachusetts.

“I can’t wait for you to visit and help celebrate my birthday in my most epic compact ever,” Polly proclaimed in a statement released by Airbnb on Wednesday.

“Let’s have some serious slumber party fun in my hometown of Littleton, where we make the ordinary extraordinary,” the fictional doll declared. “There’s adventure to be had from my closet full of nostalgic fashion fun to the surprises I’ve left hidden around the compact. The fun is endless!”

Those lucky enough to stay at the Airbnb can take a walk in Polly’s shoes — quite literally.

Her closet will be filled with human-sized versions of her iconic ’90s footwear and fashions.

Nostalgic hair and nail accessories in Polly’s favorite colors will also be available as fans get ready at her vanity. Plus, those in their friendship bracelet era will be able to make custom BFF charm jewelry.

The stay is also designed to be a throwback slumber party, complete with a retro fridge filled with snacks “every ’90s kid wanted,” plus popcorn and a movie in the living room on Polly’s pull-out couch.

Guests can also take a quick 10-foot walk to Polly’s life-sized Action Park Tent after their sleepover shenanigans. Polly even left four sleeping bags for guests to use.

Airbnb is offering three different one-night stays at the Polly Pocket house from September 12 through 14. Each reservation is for four guests at $89 per person — a nod to 1989, the year of Polly’s launch.

Those who want to spend a day living like a doll can request to book a stay starting August 21 at 6:00 a.m. PT through August 28 at 11:59 p.m. PT, when the request period closes.

For fans who can’t make it for a sleepover, Polly Pocket is opening up her home for daytime playdates for up to 12 guests each from September 16 to October 6.

It should be noted that the life-sized compact doesn’t close — because, like Polly, “it’s always open to adventure.”
