We’ve written about some pretty big baby-name drama stories in the past, but this one stopped us in our tracks.
A woman took to the Tea Time Facebook group, an Australian-based gossip page, to share the shocking post.
It read: “My ex had a baby…. just found out he’s named her the same name as me.”
Yep, that’s it. That’s the post.
But don’t worry, there’s more tea to come…
“What’s your name?” and 4 other essential questions
First and foremost, commenters had questions. Lots of them.
Here are just a few:
- Were you a long-term girlfriend?
- Was it recently that you dated or when you were younger?
- Was his family familiar with you and your name?
- Does the mum know?
- Is your name an everyday name or unique?
Thankfully, the poster was hanging out in the comments and made sure to satisfy everyone’s curiosities.
“Spewing”
The woman added in the comments: “I don’t think the baby’s mum knows about my existence now, despite him being with me for four years.
“We were engaged too! My name is not that common, which makes it weirder. It’s Freya.”
With that information, people could finally weigh in with their thoughts.
“That’s messy,” someone replied. “My heart would break if I found out my husband did this.”
“The fact guys think they can get away with this is wild,” remarked another.
“He’s gonna be constantly reminded of you for the rest of his life now hahaha,” someone else laughed.
“This is so weird on so many levels,” pointed out someone else.
“OMFG, I’d be spewing,” said one user, while a different woman just wrote, “Lord have mercy.”
However, there were a few people who didn’t see an issue.
“Am I the only one that doesn’t think it’s a big deal? It’s just a name,” one wrote.
“Maybe his wife suggested it, and he just didn’t speak up,” said another.”Or he told her he had an ex called Freya, and she said she didn’t care.”
