She’s cleaning out his wallet.
Brianna, a content creator on TikTok known as @themamabrianna, has been praised for satire that brings awareness to abusive relationships.
This time, a recent viral video, which scored more than 7 million views, described the tale of her pocketing hundreds of dollars from her husband, who believed it was going to a house cleaner.
In the video, Brianna said that her hubby forks over $250 on the first of each month for a professional to “deep clean” their home.
“I asked for a house cleaner years ago, when I was pregnant and vomiting 10 times a day while also caring for our one-year-old,” she wrote on the clip, which featured footage of her mopping. “At the time, my husband said it wasn’t in our budget.”
That is, until a few weeks ago when he revisited the prospect of a spotless home at the hands of a professional, posing the idea of a “regular house cleaner” to Brianna.
“Obviously, I said yes,” she explained. “I told him I’d get it all set up, and that i just needed $250 cash monthly to pay her.”
Since supposedly hiring the house cleaner, he’s been coughing up the money, but what he doesn’t know is that Brianna has been “deep cleaning” their house and “pocketing the cash.”
“I think I’ll use that cash to find myself a new, expensive hobby,” she continued. “My husband doesn’t seem to mind those.”
At the end of the clip, she urged her viewers who feel the need to hide money from their partners to access the resources in her bio in an attempt to spread awareness for women who may need an “out.”
In the comments, viewers applauded the TikToker’s advocacy and reflected on the realities some people in domestic partnerships face — some even shared their own tales.
“I didn’t realize how privileged my world view was until my first thought was ‘she’s saving to gift him something big’ not ‘she needs out,’” one user wrote.
“Sad how I immediately knew it’s was for a way out,” another commented. “I say the cleaner raises prices to $500/montlhy [sic] starting on this month.”
“As a professional house cleaner, I feel you STRONGLY need to increase your house cleaners pay. Far too cheap ;),” someone else chimed in.
“From some one who works at a domestic abuse shelter thank you for what you do!” one person praised.
