A UK mother got the prize of a lifetime while playing bingo when she went into labor and gave birth to her fourth child last month.

Tammy Hall, 30, started having contractions the night before, but the hospital told her it could be days before her newborn would make their way into the world.

“So my mum said, ‘Let’s go to bingo,’” Hall said.

And that’s exactly what the expectant mother did.

Hall had been playing for three hours at Club 3000 Bingo in Blackpool — 50 miles outside of Manchester — when she started to feel unwell and experienced more acute contractions on Oct. 29.

She went outside to get some air with her sister before heading to the bathroom. When she returned, her niece asked her if everything was okay.

“But because I was having this contraction, I couldn’t speak. I was like: ‘Just get me an ambulance or something’. Before I knew it, there were about 30 people standing around in the toilet, asking if I was ok.”

Staff called emergency services and her mom and sister helped load her into the back of an ambulance.

Roughly 30 minutes after the call, her son Teddie was born in the back of the ambulance outside the bingo hall. The healthy baby boy weighed eight pounds and nine ounces.

“The paramedic was like, ‘Tammy, we’re going to get you to the hospital, everything is going to be fine. And I was like, ‘No I can feel something, I think his head is there’. It was the ambulance staff who delivered the baby.”

She had Teddie in the back of an ambulance at the bingo hall. After being taken to the hospital, she and the baby were given a clean bill of health.

The baby and mother of four were examined and given a good bill of health.

Many told her she had “a full house now” and that she “hit the jackpot that night.”

Hall has since returned to the bingo hall to show off her newborn boy to staff who helped her through the stressful time.

“The staff at Club 3000 Bingo in Blackpool were incredible and so calm and caring,” she said. “I don’t think any words would come close to how much I appreciate every single one of them and their help.”

Even with a newborn, she has gone back to play a few rounds too. Hall has been going to bingo since she was 18 and started playing the game with her grandma Margaret.

Sean Connolly, general manager at Club 3000 Bingo said they “can’t wait to welcome Tammy back in the club very soon to celebrate.”
