A British couple claimed to be joined by a “demonic figure” while on a walk with their dogs — and they seemingly have proof.
Hannah and Dave Rowett, both 52, were recently taking their daily walk in Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire, around 6:30 a.m. when Hannah “felt we weren’t alone,” as she told Kennedy News and Media.
The park is said to be haunted by a female spirit, dubbed the Grey Lady, who has reportedly been seen wearing a long, gray cloak.
While Dave fetched their Labradors from the car, Hannah grabbed her phone and flashlight and followed a white ghostly figure that appeared to pass in front of them. She then turned to Dave and told him that she had seen a ghost.
“I’ve always been really skeptical, but literally every hair from my feet to my head stood on end,” he said. “I asked her to show me again. I loved it.”
Hannah’s picture was taken as a live photo, which captures successive frames that can be made into a video, which their daughter posted to Facebook.
“It seems we weren’t alone on our early morning walk in Clumber today!” Hannah wrote in the post, which has amassed more than 500 reactions, 1,800 comments and 2,800 shares.
One viewer suggested it resembled “a ghost of a dog or [fox],” while one believer commented, “I would had chills seeing that. How lucky you are too had seen that!!!” Many users tried to explain the sight by insisting that the “figure” came from a cigarette or vape, but the couple insists they do not smoke.
“It’s quite demonic in the way it’s crawling and has long limbs. It never changes its form, and if it was smoke it would change,” Hannah said.
She also stated that she did not feel scared in the presence of the ghost — claiming that’s because she grew up in a house where she’d “regularly” see an old man who supposedly haunted it.
“I wasn’t scared,” Dave also doubled down. “I was just glad to see something because I’ve always said that I’d need to before I believe stuff like that. This makes me believe there is something.”
While the couple may never know what they saw, Hannah feels comforted by other online detectives.
“I’ve had so many messages about it. It justifies our feelings about it,” she said. “There aren’t many like this out there and we’ve got no logical explanation.”
