Things went very black while all dressed in white for this tipsy bride.
Shortly after exchanging an “I do” with her groom on March 24, a newlywed found herself on the bathroom floor of her wedding reception venue, slumped over a toilet and being forced to vomit.
In fact, one of the only things she remembers from the wild night is thinking to herself, “‘S – – t, I’m about to be really f – – ked up.”
In the closed caption of her trending TikTok tell-all, bride Mackenzie Grimsley, 23, wrote, “Nontraditional things I did at my wedding” — and then revealed that she unceremoniously “blacked out.”
In the chaotic clip — which has scared up a whopping 11 million views — Grimsley, based in South Carolina, shared big-day footage of her alcohol-induced incapacitation, showing herself crouched facedown over a toilet while her husband, Braden, offered his support.
“[I] missed the grand exit, so this was mine,” she wrote in the on-screen text above video of her being carried out of the event space by Braden and a horde of concerned partygoers.
In the caption of the post, Grimsley begged of her more than 2.4 million followers, “I’m being real honest with y’all right now so don’t judge me,” before adding, “It happened so fast. I’m still confused, honestly.”
However, despite her plea for sensitivity, online disparagers quickly reprimanded the bride for her less-than-becoming behavior.
“I would be so upset with my spouse if they blacked out on our wedding day,” one viewer scolded.
“I would regret this for the rest of my life,” another critic chimed.
“That’s sad,” said a separate onlooker.
But Grimsley detailed her breakdown in a follow-up confessional titled, “How I blacked out at our wedding.”
“I, myself, don’t even really know how it happened,” the blonde begins, explaining that she’d been eating throughout the day and staying hydrated with sips of water in between gulps of alcohol.
“I was definitely pacing myself with shots,” continues Grimsley.
She further claims that the majority of the “five or six shots” she remembered taking were mixed with juice or soda to lessen the power of the proof.
“Apparently I was taking way more shots than I thought I was taking,” she admits. “I ran up to the bridal suite … I don’t remember anything after that besides someone saying that they were scared I was going to have alcohol poisoning.”
Grimsley goes on to say that she doesn’t recall puking, but does remember being extremely tired and falling asleep with her head resting on the rim of the toilet.
“It wasn’t like I was getting so drunk all night,” she says. “It just all hit me at once. I took a bunch of shots back to back to back.”
But to haters who feared that the blackout erased precious memories of her nuptials, Grimsley says, “I‘d probably hate myself … if I didn’t remember my whole day.”
She then boasts, “I was getting our money’s worth of the alcohol.”
