Wife leaves shocking tip after waitresses’ ‘advances’ on hubby

If North America needed another sign that tipping culture should die, they shouldn’t look any further than this “tip” one waitress got from an angry customer.

The image, shared to photo-based forum site Imgur, showed an image of a $32.76 bill.

Next to the tip field was a note that read “don’t call my husband sweetheart” and no extra money was given to the waitress.

The image was posted with the caption: “Well, it may be a tip but she’s just trying to make a living.”

Social media users were left outraged by the note left by the diner, and defended the waitress’ actions.

“What an insecure b*tch. On a side note, tipping should be abolished. Pay your staff a living wage. Servers shouldn’t be held hostage by assholes like this woman,” one social media user commented.

Another said: “In the southern US, everyone is called honey, sweety, sweetheart and my personal favourite, ‘sugar.’”

“You know how many times I’ve been called hon or sweetie, or sweetheart by a waitress? Well, not a lot. But, when it happens it’s always because it’s so into their vocabulary that they say that to everyone. It’s just how they end certain sentences. I didn’t think much of it,” one added.

Another social media user said: “This is the reason the civilised countries got rid of tip-based jobs.”

It comes after another waitress was not left a tip and instead given a “rude” note by her customers.

The American woman took to Reddit to share a picture of the bill, which came to a total of $65.80.

At the bottom of the bill, the customer had written: “No tip because it was very rude to ask my wife and I if we wanted separate checks???”

The waitress was surprised the man, who she said appeared to be in his late 50s to early 60s with “much younger” wife, had the “audacity” to write the note with her pen.

She explained it was restaurant policy to ask diners if the bill was to be split — a rule that came about after a staff member had an awkward interaction with two parents dining with their kids.
