Woman riding e-bike pulling 7 dogs confronted by stranger on the street for ‘dangerous’ act

A woman filmed riding an e-bike while pulling seven dogs on a leash has sparked outrage online, receiving a lashing for her dangerous, illegal and “stupid” act.

The video, which was obtained by The Wentworth Courier, shows the woman slowly cycling on the motorized bike while a number of leashed dogs walk along at her left.

The video was posted on the Bondi Local Loop Facebook page but has since been deleted after it gained more than 120 scathing comments and hundreds of views.

A woman can be heard asking the cyclist “why have you got dogs tied to your bike” as she rides across a residential street. The woman filming the interaction then counts the seven dogs the cyclist is ‘walking’ as they stop on the footpath.

The dog leads can be seen stacked on the cyclists’ left wrist, not the bike.

“I’m a dog walker, this is not good,” the woman said to the rider, who requests she put the phone down to have a “nice conversation.”

“They are very skilled at this,” the rider says as she rolls further away from the camera, dogs in tow.

“You have too many dogs,” the woman filming continues.

After a video of the woman was posted on the Bondi Local Loop Facebook group, it received over 120 aggressive comments.

“It’s illegal to be stalking me and filming me,” the cyclist replied, and repeats her request for the woman to put her phone down.

The woman had the final word before the video cut out, saying: “Well, let’s see what the families have to say about this.”

Many comments left under the video expressed shock at the video showing the dogs following closely behind the bike.

Under New South Wales, Australia legislation, no more than four dogs can be walked on a leash in a public area, and cannot be tethered to bikes.

James Webb, the owner of dog walking company Mad Dogs & Englishmen, told The Wentworth Courier his company had a strict four dog maximum because to walk more was “dangerous” and “illegal”.

“It absolutely drives me and all of my franchisees crazy that people are always allowed to walk more than four dogs every day, and the rangers do nothing,” Mr. Webb said.

“No one is no one’s interested in policing them, and so as a result, people get greedy and you see people with 12, 13, 14, 15 dogs.”

He said Mad Dogs & Englishmen workers upheld legal requirements because of the risks of walking in larger groups, saying they can be “impossible” to control.

“They might be all right most of the time, but then on the day that they meet the wrong kind of dog or something like that happens then how are you going to how are you going to pull the pull the dogs apart if they get into a fight?” he said.
