Couple slammed for ice cream licking stunt: ‘What is wrong with people?’

The internet got icy with this couple.

A Virginia couple was slammed online after a video of the pair licking an ice cream container at a grocery store and then putting it back went viral.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, the couple, identified as Tequan and Asian Hines, was walking down the freezer section of a grocery store when Hines encouraged the woman to take a tub of soft whip ice cream and lick the top.

“Let me taste it. Let me taste it,” Hines can be heard saying as he films his partner. Asia then lifts the tub up to his mouth while looking around to make sure that the duo is not spotted.

“Ok put it back,” orders Hines. “Hurry up, hurry up!”

At the end of the 19-second video, the pair can be seen running down the aisle barely containing their laughter.

The video was later posted on Twitter and has been viewed nearly 6 million times, and several users lost their cool with the pair.

“So when are they getting locked up,” asked one user.

“What?! What is wrong with people? Why is this even a thing? This is disgusting.” commented another.

“20 years in jail,” another added. “I’m so serious.”

“Just remember this is a felony,” slammed a fourth critic.

The Post reached out to the couple for comment.

Indeed, such a prank would be considered a criminal offense and punishable by law — as few other slobbery scamps have learned the hard way.

In 2019, a Texas man named D’Adrien Anderson was caught cold-handed after he was spotted licking a pint of Blue Bell ice cream at a local Walmart.

According to surveillance footage, Anderson eventually returned and purchased the sweet treat, but the store was forced to dump its entire selection of Blue Bell at considerable cost.

The video of the man was posted on Facebook where it was viewed nearly 157,000 times before being taken down.

“This guy loves publicity even if it’s for the wrong reason,” Jefferson County District Attorney Bob Wortham told KFDM-TV. “That can lead to bigger and worse things. If we’re going to save this guy, we have to do it with this case or he’s over the hill.”

Anderson pled guilty to criminal mischief and was sentenced to one year in jail.

And who could forget when pop star Ariana Grande was also investigated for having sticky fingers and a tongue? Gande, then 22, was investigated by police in 2015 after she reportedly licked several donuts on display at Wolfee Donuts in Lake Elsinore, Calif., while openly mocking shop employees and sharing, “I hate Americans. I hate America!”

According to cashier Mayra Solis, the singer never purchased any of the donuts that she touched. Solis later told the Associated Press that the “Thank U Next” singer was “really rude.”

Grande was compelled to apologize following an outcry over her apparent disrespect towards the working class. “I am extremely proud to be an American and I’ve always made it clear that I love my country,” she insisted in her response and claimed that her actions were actually in protest of “childhood obesity” and the “food industry” at large.
