Starbucks’ alleged food waste exposed in shocking video: ‘This should be illegal’

Holy frap!

Starbucks fans are up in arms over the Seattle-based coffee chain’s shocking amount of food waste, as alleged in a viral video.

Aidan Stockin, who claims to be an employee, recently shared a TikTok video showing the massive amount of products that the store throws away after the day is done.

The viral clip — which has since amassed over 2 million views — featured Stockin, 23, peering over several grocery carts filled with Starbucks snacks, which he claims were “all trash” on their way to the dumpster.

The Massachusetts native told Jam Press that the wasteful issue applies to all of the chains, not just the one specific store that he works at.

Stockin has been employed at different Starbucks over the past seven years and noted that every single cafe says that they have a food donation service.

However, he claimed that the company “turns around and throws out a substantial amount of food daily.”

“It made me feel sick to be forced into throwing out so much perfectly good food when the homeless shelter is 10 minutes down the road,” the biology student said.

The Post has reached out to Starbucks for comment.

The 13-second video disgusted viewers, and many couldn’t help but comment about the amount of discarded food items.

“The cake pops and croissants NOOOOOOOO!” someone cried.

Another person whined: “STARBIES HAS ENOUGH MONEY TO LET PEOPLE TAKE IT FOR FREE THEYRE LOSING PROFIT FROM IT EITHER WAY HELP!”

“Plzzzz this should be illegal,” one penned. “@Starbucks really???? what is wrong with you!!!”

Someone else added: “I would legit cash app you right now for those chocolate croissants.”

“Nooo why can’t they donate it,” one person asked.

Stockin also explained how five carts were thrown out in less than three days at the time when he filmed his TikTok.

“I felt trapped and conflicted because if it were up to me, I would have loaded the food into the back of my car and drove it straight down to the homeless shelter,” he sighed.

Back in 2016, Starbucks revealed that it would be launching its “FoodShare” program, an initiative geared at donating unsold food each day and distributing it to needy individuals.

About 5.1 million households in America were classified as “food insecure” in 2021, and people waste up to 40 million tons of food a year, according to the US Department of Agriculture.

However, The Post exclusively reported in 2020 that the coffee shop was still trashing meals that weren’t purchased by customers.
