Talk about a Mexican standoff.
Fast food fans are hitting out at Chipotle, saying the franchise “doesn’t hit the way it used to.”
TikTok users piled on the popular Tex-Mex chain after a customer complained about the company in a viral video posted to the app.
“Can we talk about the downfall of Chipotle?” user Jeanine Amapola asked in her clip, which has clocked up close to 60,000 likes.
“I was so desperate for food today and I was short on time so I went to Chipotle, which I never go to anymore, and [now] I feel like I know why,” the TikTokker tartly declared.
The content creator claimed she paid $14 for a “little bowl” that had once cost her $9, and said the franchise overcharged for extra guacamole.
Although she blamed “inflation” for the price rise, and said the food was “still decent,” she believed “the quality is not there.”
Amapola added that the restaurants now felt “very chaotic” and said she preferred to eat at Cava — a Mediterranean-inspired fast food franchise.
Other fans agreed with Amapola’s opinion and also gave their thoughts on Chipotle.
“They need a rebrand so bad,” one asserted.
Several claimed the franchise’s glory days had passed, and wistfully recalled loving the restaurants.
“I feel bad for ppl who didn’t get to experience 2009-2010 Chipotle,” one stated. “Whew lawd it was fire.”
“I would give ANYTHING for a single bite of my 2011 Chipotle order,” another added.
However, others stated that they still loved dining at the fast food franchise.
“I still like it,” one defender declared.
“Must just be your Chipotle,” another stated. “Mine is never chaotic. And I ask for guac on the side, so they fill that entire side cup up generously.”
The company was founded in 1993 and currently has 3,250 stores across America.
