Viewers got a rise out of this.
A befuddled TikToker was shocked to learn that a cute bakery she so adored was actually a massive chain operating in the U.S. and Canada.
For the entirety of her youth, Eli Rallo would have sworn that Nothing Bundt Cakes “was a local, small-town, family-run business.”
“I was, like, bringing out-of-town visitors to this f–king place,” she said in a clip that has been viewed 665,000 times.
“I was, like, ‘This is a quaint little shop, like, run by a family’ … I get to college, I hear someone else from Texas talking about Nothing Bundt Cakes. I realized it’s a national chain,” Rallo added of the sweet shop with several tri-state locations among its more than 500 total bakeries.
Upon posting, many of her followers shared shock in discovering the same about Nothing Bundt Cakes’ expansive truth.
“Here I am learning this news for the first time,” one person replied.
Some also shared that they made similar misconceptions about other nationwide brands. One thought Jersey Mike’s was exclusive to the Garden State, while another took Applebee’s “neighborhood grill” motto too literally.
However, some decided to roast the uninformed TikToker.
“We have this cute lil deli called Panera, you must try it!” jeered one commenter.
“Me with Mcdonalds,” added another, as a third joked, “Me with Starbucks.”
