Witnesses to the hilarity were lovin’ it.
A DoorDash mishap that resulted in a family receiving 200 McDonald’s chicken nuggets — when they only wanted 20 — quickly went viral online as the unboxing for the ages amassed more than 10 million views.
“Where’s our food we actually ordered?!” quipped Jessica, known online as @lynn_j_goat, while her family laughed out loud after opening only 160 of the massive total.
Most of the order was supposed to be burgers, she said in a follow-up clip, explaining the debacle that resurfaced from around 2017.
A laugh-filled second part to the initial video was needed to complete the order reveal as well.
The family — from Buffalo, New York, but living in Long Beach, California, at the time — had Jessica’s parents over to see their grandchild, and they all wanted an easy-going family dinner.
It was the responsibility of her husband Chris to use the food delivery app to order what Jessica recalled was a few burgers and two 10-piece McNugget orders.
Thinking he was adding in each chicken nugget individually on the app, Chris inadvertently ordered 20 of the 10-piece McNuggets for the family of die-hard Bills fans.
Jessica was quick to joke that Chris clearly wasn’t detail-oriented at that moment, adding that she wasn’t paying much attention either.
“I think he mentioned, ‘Oh, wow, this is expensive,’ but I was just, like, ‘Eh, who knows?’”
Neither one thought something was amiss when their delivery driver texted them about the long wait, saying that the order was being specially made.
“We’re, like, ‘Sweet, that’s awesome. Fresh food!’” Jessica recalled, adding that the driver was “shocked” to see so few people when the food arrived.
“I was, like, ‘Is this a prank?’” she said after seeing boxes upon boxes of nuggets — with an adequate amount of sauces to go with the haul.
Ultimately, the family decided to pack up the over-order and bring it to an area nearby where homeless people were living while the food was still warm and fresh.
“They were so happy,” Jessica said. “It turned out to be really awesome.”
