A new bakery classic is taking over Costco’s around the nation, but they aren’t for everyone.
The warehouse giant, famous for its $1.50 hot dog and soda combo, free samples and tons of bulk essentials, may have just dropped the item of the summer. But you’ll need to head to the bakery section.
Costco shoppers’ latest obsession, pretzel bagels. The Kirkland Signature Pretzel Bagels are a “Bavarian Style” creation with a soft center and chewy pretzel crust.
The popular wholesale club recently started selling bagels in single packs rather than in bundles of two. Which means the newest addition to the bagel family is no exception. Each is priced at just $4.99 and comes in a pack of eight.
However, be sure to call your local location, as the bagels will only be available at select Costco Bakery stores and not all stores.
The new item is super versatile and can be eaten in a variety of yummy ways. Shoppers can enjoy them in their natural state with a slab of cream cheese — toasted or untoasted. Folks can use the bagels as sandwiches or in place of a burger bun.
Shoppers have also been transforming them into pizza bites by adding a generous portion of marinara, a heaping of cheese, and pepperoni, all with just a light toasting.
Just note, these are not traditional soft pretzels as they don’t come topped with salt.
But adding your favorite type is easy. Just brush the tops of the bagels with butter, sprinkle with any salt and chuck them in the oven or air fryer at 300 degrees F for a few minutes.
Regardless of seasoning, the chain announced the news on Instagram, and fans are freaking out.
“I’ve seen enough, give me 30,” an Instagram user wrote on Costco’s post.

Another said, “Need to try these ASAP.”
It’s unclear whether or not the bagels will be around for a limited time run or become permanent, so be sure to scoop up a pack or two if you’re lucky enough to see them in stores.
The Post has reached out to Costco for confirmation on the pretzels’ permanence on store shelves.
The grocery favorite is also making moves in nine other states as it plans to open 10 more locations this summer, including one store in Taiwan. From June to August, keep your eyes open as a new spot could be coming near you.
These new locations will push Costco past its 640 US stores after an already busy 2025. Last year, the company added 27 new warehouses. The new locations can be found on Costco’s “New Locations” page,

To check out any of these new stores or one near you, just note that a membership is required. Shoppers have a few different choices as there are three levels to grab — the Gold Star, Business or Executive.
A standard Costco Gold Star/Business membership costs $65 per year, while the premium Executive membership costs $130 per year.
The cheaper option comes with two membership cards (one primary and one free household card for someone over 16 living at the same address). While the Business memberships also allow the purchase of additional cards for companies.
Executive Memberships include all the benefits of the Gold Star tier, plus an annual 2% reward on some Costco purchases, early store access, and extra savings on Costco Travel and other services.
