Dave Grohl hired divorce lawyer before revealing he cheated on wife, fathered baby outside of marriage: report

Dave Grohl is allegedly prepared for his marriage to Jordyn Blum to end in divorce.

The Foo Fighters frontman, 55, retained a divorce lawyer before he announced Tuesday that he cheated on Blum, 48, and welcomed a child out of wedlock, a source told PEOPLE in a report published Wednesday.

The Post has reached out to Grohl’s rep for comment.

Grohl revealed his infidelity in a statement on Instagram.

“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” the musician said.

“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he added.

“We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together,” his statement concluded.

A rep for Grohl told The Post that there was no additional comment from the musician at this time.

The “Everlong” singer has been married to Blum since 2003. Years before the scandal, he recalled meeting Blum in 2001.

“Taylor [Hawkins] and I were hanging out at the Sunset Marquis whiskey bar. Taylor was the looker. I mean, girls would send him drinks. Some bombshell comes up and starts talking to Taylor. I was just out of a Tenacious D session. I’ve got Vans trainers on, no socks, dirty shorts and a dirty T-shirt, surrounded by beautiful Hollywood,” he told Q Magazine of his late bandmate.

“She waved her friend Jordyn over. I was like, ‘Oh my God. Not a chance!’ So I’m just having some drinks and acting like a jackass. And by the end of the night I was pissed and I’m staring at her going, ‘You’re my future ex-wife,’” he laughed. “So she gave me her number: ‘Jordyn, your future ex-wife.’”

Blum has yet to release a statement on his infidelity. Their daughter Violet Maye, 18, however, has appeared to deactivate her Instagram account. It is unclear when she first shut down the page.

At the 2023 Glastonbury Festival in June 2023, the proud dad brought Violet on the stage to perform a song from his band’s latest album, “But Here We Are.”

“My favorite singer in the world,” he gushed at the time. “This is a song I wrote for my mother, Violet’s grandmother. This is ‘Show Me How.’”

The couple are also parents of daughters Harper Willow, 15, and Ophelia Saint, 10. 

Grohl confirmed in his statement that his fourth child is also a girl.
